((Didn't notice that ya'll would've preferred me audition before creating an account, but oh well o.o; Question: how many characters may we bring in? I'd like to have a second character--someday. Definitely not until I get used to this place, but... ^_^)) The gentle alphess used her nose to push her smallest pup out of the den. The little thing blinked, frightened of the bright light where her brothers had already disappeared to. She stepped out of the den and tumbled onto the soft, dew-covered grass, her mother the alpha walking behind her encouragingly. "And who is this little one?" a warm, male voice came from above the pup. The young wolf looked up, her nose twitching. She had seen this one before...her mother had said he was her 'father.' Her tiny muzzle wrinkled in a puppy growl as she began to feel intimidated by the world outside her den. "I have decided to name her Hylen... if that's alright with you." The alphess' tail waved as she licked her mate. "Hylen, then," the alpha said, lowering his head so he could look at his daughter. The newly-dubbed Hylen stared into her father's eyes, trying not to show the trepidation she felt. Again her ears backed and she gave a tiny growl. The male laughed. "Hylen's a fierce one!" he said proudly. ((scene from the puppyhood of meh charrie. I would fill it out a bit, but I must get off the computer... ^^; )

Lakota:
Small white paws touched the earth at a rhythmic trot. A light, sandy figure moved flawlessly through the fallen timber and underbrush, trying not to make so much as a twig snap. Her chestnut eyes darted from here to there, new to this terra. Even in the moonlight, her fur shown brightly, as if telling all she had arrived. The petite, feminine wolf slowed, her body thin from hunger. Her legs were weary from traveling day and night for weeks, trying to escape her past. This lone wolf, now at four seasons old, was banished from her pack. The stubborn personality of her made the others quite angry, wanting her to be the omega. She refused, often fighting with the others, not wanting to be the last. She also had a trusting problem, always cautious of others, even some of those in her own pack. Now upon a hill, leaning against a fallen tree, the young wolf overlooked the new area she had just arrived at. Large ears twitching, listening for other sounds of the same kind nearby. Slender muzzle lifting into the air, she gave a sniff, getting a drift of a deer to the right of her, a squirrel in the tree above her, and noticing a hawk fly over head. A slight breeze went by, ruffling her creamy colored coat. Her calling you ask? Lakota, her mother giving the name her own special meaning. Lakota pricked her ears forward, listening for any other howls that might be nearby. She tilted her petite head back and gave a short howl of greeting, the wind carrying it away in the distance.
All done, thanks for reading. ^^ Hope everyone likes it.

Sorry, the paragraph is all scrunched together. Didn't mean for it to look like that.
